Alumni Awards and Honors
College of Science and Engineering alumni are among the University's most successful and distinguished. They include Nobel laureates, national academy members, leaders in government and industry, and pioneering entrepreneurs.
- CSE Alumni Society Awards
Presented by the University of Minnesota Alumni Association, these awards recognize the CSE Alumni Society as a leader in offering excellent programs with substantial reach and impact. - Alumni Service Awards
The Alumni Service Award may be granted to former students in recognition of volunteer service to the University, its schools, colleges, departments, or faculty, or to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Alumni Association (Alumni Association) or any of its constituent groups. - Outstanding Achievement Awards
The University confers its Outstanding Achievement Award on graduates or former students of the University who have attained unusual distinction in their chosen fields or professions or in public service, and who have demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership on a community, state, national, or international level.
- Honorary Degrees
The University's honorary doctorate is awarded to individuals who have achieved eminence in cultural affairs, public service, or a field of knowledge and scholarship.
- Distinguished Leadership Award
This University-wide award for international alumni, former students, and friends of the University recognizes those who have attained unusual distinction as professionals in their careers within institutions or in public service.
- CSE Nobel Laureates
These are awarded annually by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Swedish Academy, the Karolinska Institute, and the Norwegian Nobel Committee to individuals and organizations who make outstanding contributions in the fields of chemistry, physics, literature, peace, and physiology or medicine.
