The goal

The College of Science and Engineering has identified a pressing need to endow 16 new faculty chairs to attract and retain the highest quality faculty who are central to achieving our goals in research and education.

Why faculty support makes a difference

Among the members of the college’s faculty are world-class leaders, rising stars, inspirational teachers, prolific researchers, gifted visionaries, engaging lecturers, and dedicated mentors. They create and sustain strong academic programs, draw talented students, attract other eminent scholars, and bring acclaim to the college and University.

Private support in the form of endowed chairs and professorships helps us attract and retain superlative faculty and provides resources that support their research. Endowed chairs and professorships honor preeminent, established scholars who are leaders in their fields and whose contributions are essential to maintaining the college’s excellence.

Help us meet this goal and build a bridge to priority research and the education of more scientists and engineers

  • Fill chairs with faculty who will move forward research in energy and the environment, human health, and nanotechnology
  • Attract and retain outstanding faculty for research and teaching
