Four PhD students win Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships

April 25, 2022 — Four Biomedical Engineering PhD students were awarded Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships (DDFs) for the 2022-23 academic year in a University of Minnesota-wide competition sponsored by the Graduate School.
The award gives the University's most accomplished PhD candidates an opportunity to devote full-time effort to an outstanding research project by providing time to finalize and write a dissertation. Awards were given to:

Dave Wood’s lab
Sophie Givens
Brenda Ogle’s lab
Ayako Ohoka
Casim Sarkar’s lab
Elizabeth Shih
Pat Alford’s lab
They were selected among 195 nominees across campus.
