CEMS team wins 2023 TMS Materials Bowl

For the second year in a row, a team of CEMS students won the The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) Materials Bowl, a materials-themed knowledge and trivia competition, held at the TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition. To compete, each school's Material Advantage (MA) chapter can assemble a team of four chapter members and one graduate student to represent their school. The winning team this year included (pictured, from left): Moujhuri Sau (PhD student), Trevor Totten (MSE' 23), Ashlie Hamilton (MSE '24), and Regina Gonzalez (MSE '24).

Teams compete in one elimination round, and then a championship game is held for cash prizes. As part of the winning team, each CEMS student won $250, and $500 was awarded to the Material Advantage UMTC student group chapter. The team name will also be added to the Materials Bowl trophy. Congratulations!
