Professor Jessica Lamb receives Leadership Development Award

MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL (02/22/2022)—The American Chemical Society and its Division of Professional Relations (PROF) has selected Professor Jessica Lamb for the inaugural PROF Leadership Development Award.

Lamb will be representing the division with her attendance at the ACS Leadership Development Institute 2022 in Atlanta, GA. The ACS Leadership Development Institute is an invitation-only conference where leaders across the chemical enterprise come together to develop and hone their skills in leadership and management to empower their success as ACS Leadership.

Lamb says she is incredibly grateful for the award, adding “ACS has been an integral part of my professional development journey through the Future Faculty Workshop and the New Faculty Workshop. I look forward to developing new skills at the Leadership Development Institute and expanding my network within the ACS community.”

PROF represents chemical professionals of all identities, career stages, and chemical disciplines. Lamb has been active in multiple sub-divisions of PROF, citing their importance in fostering community and providing professional development opportunities. Two recent example include serving as a moderator for the Women's Chemist Committee’s networking event "Women Chemists of Color Celebrating National Chemistry Week" in October 2021 and running for Chair of the Gay and Transgender Chemists and Allies sub-division.
