Professor Tonks appointed associate editor of Organometallics

Professor Ian A. Tonks has been appointed as an associate editor for the American Chemical Society journal Organometallics, effective Dec 1, 2020. Established in 1982, Organometallics is the premiere journal for synthetic and theoretical chemistry at the interface of organic and inorganic chemistry, publishing hundreds of papers that receive over 35,000 citations annually. 

Professor Tonks previously served on the editorial advisory board for Organometallics, and also guest edited a special issue on electropositive elements in selective synthesis in 2018. In addition to regularly publishing articles in Organometallics, Professor Tonks co-authored a landmark editorial in the journal on laboratory safety that has been downloaded almost 6,000 times. 

Professor Tonks joins in the long and distinguished history of journal editorship service in the Department of Chemistry. Currently, the Department of Chemistry has four faculty members who serve as editor-in-chiefs, two co-editors, and six associate editors of journals spanning the entirety of the chemical discipline.
