CSE Career Fairs

The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) hosts two Career Fairs on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus each academic year—fall and spring. These events offer 1,500-3,000 students and recent alumni from CSE's 20 majors the opportunity to connect with future employers. Plus, companies the chance to recruit STEM leaders. In fall 2022, we will offer both in-person and virtual Career Fair options.

Sponsorship ($450-$800) will cover expenses of event. Depending on format, a percentage goes to a student group or a few student groups.

Resume Marathon

The CSE Career Center hosts this event to help 100-300 students prepare for the CSE Career Fair.

Practice Interview Day

The CSE Career Center hosts this event to help 60-150 students prepare to meet potential employers at the CSE Career Fair.

Company Information Sessions/Tech Talks

The CSE Career Center hosts this event to help up to 100 students learn more about potential employers/job opportunities at the CSE Career Fair.

Sponsorship (varies) will cover food or swag costs.

Workshops

The CSE Career Center hosts this event to help up to 100 students prepare for the CSE Career Fair.

Sponsorship (varies) will cover food or swag costs.

Site visits

The CSE Career Center hosts this opportunity for 10-40 students to visit potential employers.

CSE Alumni Association

Each fall, more than 200 CSE students are matched with industry professionals/University alumni who provide valuable career information, insights, and strategies. The program runs October to April every school year.

Sponsorship (free) includes student mentoring and networking with your employees. Learn more on the CSE Mentor Program website. 

Naming Spaces

Lind Hall

Lind Hall was built in 1911 as the University of Minnesota's “Main Engineering Building." It's been expanded and remodeled several times, most recently in 2012, when a student center and offices for the College of Science and Engineering were added to the first floor.

The current project includes renovations of the basement, second and third floors—and upgrades to building infrastructure. The new Lind Hall will expand teaching, collaboration, and associated research spaces for two academic departments: Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) and Computer Science and Engineering (CS&E). Learn more on the project website.

Sponsorship ($50,000-$750,000c) includes visibility of your brand in high-traffic student areas that directly align with your business interests. Options include: student organization offices, interactive learning spaces, classrooms, common spaces, conference huddle rooms, seminar rooms, advising reception area, etc.

The College of Science and Engineering has 13 academic departments spread across various buildings on the Twin Cities campus.

Sponsorship ($50,000-$1,000,000; payment can be spread out over a couple years) includes visibility of your brand in high-traffic student areas that directly align with your business interests.

Scholarships

Scholarship support

Scholarships provide access for those with the greatest financial need, including first-generation college students, plus help reduce the amount of student loan debt, and attract and retain more underrepresented students in STEM.

Sponsorship ($500-$35,000) will support per student) includes visibility of your brand in high-traffic student areas that directly align with your business interests. You may also engage a specific cohort of students in numerous ways—for example networking events, tour of facilities, mentoring, and internships.

 

Student Leadership Development

CSE Week

CSE week is an annual spring celebration of science and engineering at the University of Minnesota dating back to 1914. Events—attended by 500-1,000 CSE students, faculty, and staff—include competitions, professional development, networking, and social events.

Sponsorship ($2,000-$20,000) includes logo placement, web/social media views/impressions, invitations to events. Your support will help sustain current programming and events. More support will allow growth in offerings, marketing, promotions, etc.

Leadership Development Programming

The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) offers a variety of leadership development opportunities that engage students (about 60 a year) to explore goal setting, communication, teamwork, and more. Past programs include the LeaderShape Institute and Catalyst.

Sponsorship ($5,000-$25,000) includes logo placement, web/social media views/impressions, invitations to events. Your support will help sustain programs via partnerships with other University units, such as Carson School of Management, Student Unions & Activities, and the College of Biological Sciences. More funding would provide CSE-specific opportunities for student leadership development.

Student Organization Support

The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) offers a variety of leadership development opportunities that engage students (about 60 a year) to explore goal setting, communication, teamwork, and more. Past programs include the LeaderShape Institute and Catalyst.

Sponsorship ($500-$10,000) will support grants, operational and travel costs, and scholarships.

Experiential Learning

CSE Winter Light Show

The annual, free public light show—designed and executed by the University of Minnesota Tesla Works student organization—features more than 250,000 LED lights set to music that's also written and recorded by University of Minnesota students. Typically held over three nights, nightly attendance is 200+ people (from the University community and the general public/Twin Cities residents). Sponsorship ($2,500) will allow the show to improve and expand reach.
