CSE Department Commencement Celebrations
Small, in-person department events
Below are the dates and times for each department event. All events will be in the McNamara Alumni Center, 200 SE Oak St., Minneapolis. Each event will be limited to a maximum of one hour due to time needed for cleaning, resetting the space, and arrival of graduates for the next event. Some departments will have multiple ceremonies due to size.

Graduates: Watch your email
Graduates will be contacted (or may have already been contacted) directly by their department with additional event details to register for their department celebration.
Restrictions and Guidelines
Capacity will be limited under social distancing guidelines. Each event will be livestreamed for friends and family who are not able to attend. Family and friends may be physically on campus to congratulate you after the ceremony as long as everyone is following all social distance guidelines.
Masks and social distancing will be required both outdoors and indoors given current protocols. No food or beverages will be served. There will be no hand shaking. A professional photographer will be available to take each graduate's photo. Department-based celebrations will meet all safety guidelines outlined by the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota Department of Health.
Cap and Gown
Graduates will be instructed by their department if caps and gowns are requested. To purchase a cap and gown for your photo or for the department celebration, please visit the U of M Bookstore website.
