CSE Alumni Tour of the Minnesota Orchestra Hall

Free Tour • Pre-Registration Required

The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) Alumni Society Board invites you to attend an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Orchestra Hall. The tour will include an enhanced discussion of the acoustics that make the hall sound so wonderful. The tour is free, but pre-registration is required.

Following the tour, guests are invited to socialize with one another at a pre-concert happy hour. Desserts and drinks will be available for purchase. In addition, participants have the option of purchasing tickets to a one hour concert beginning at 6 p.m. following the happy hour. The concert is a cello concerto and Beethoven Symphony No. 4. Learn more about the concert on the orchestra's website.

4-4:45 p.m.—Tour of Orchestra Hall
4:45 p.m.—Optional socializing at pre-concert happy hour
6 p.m.—Optional concert, tickets sold separately

Attendees will experience a behind-the-scenes tour of the home of the Minnesota Orchestra, including a discussion of the building's acoustics. There may also be an opportunity to ask questions of musicians and stage managers as pre-concert schedules permit.

PLEASE NOTE: The Minnesota Orchestra requires advance notice of mobility restrictions so it can plan the best tour route for our group. Please be sure to note mobility restrictions when you register.

Check-In Location and Event Details

When you arrive, please enter the building through the stage door on Marquette Ave. The door is located halfway down Marquette Ave. between 11th and 12th Streets - it is a set of large black doors with "STAGE DOOR" written along the top. The stage door is on street level, and is not accessible by the skyway. A CSE staff member will be there to greet you.

Parking

Orchestra Hall is located in downtown Minneapolis on Nicollet Mall between 11th St. S. and 12th St. S. For driving directions and a map showing the nearest parking facilities, please visit the orchestra's website. Please note that if you park in the ramp at 11st St. S. and Marquette Ave. you might experience a delay leaving the ramp, as everyone who attended the concert will be leaving at the same time.
