ISyE Industry Partner and Undergraduate Alumni Reception

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering is celebrating 10 years! Since 2012, ISyE has welcomed undergraduate students who are interested in business and engineering. The growth over the past 10 years has included students, faculty, staff, and space!

ISyE has settled into a new home on the second floor of Lind Hall, the historical engineering building at the University of Minnesota. Many of you had your class picture taken on the front steps.

April Star Party

Join Bell Museum for our next in-person Star Party!  Outside, we’ll have our telescopes set up to observe the Moon and our favorite deep space objects (weather permitting). Inside, you can explore hands-on activities, and our expert astronomy team will guide you through the night sky and highlight cosmic sights in our planetarium.

Technically Speaking - Jodie Kautt

The Technological Leadership Institute is pleased to host a fireside chat with Jodie Kautt.

Jodie Kautt is Vice President of Cyber Security at Target.  In this role, Jodie leads the Cyber Fusion Center, which integrates threat intelligence, advanced analytics and state-of-the-art technology to detect, deter, investigate and mitigate cyber threats. 

During this Technically Speaking talk, Jodie will walk you through the role cybersecurity plays in the modern retail company and how she navigates the challenges of leadership on the edge.  She will also demystify the world of cybersecurity to the uninitiated and explore how leaders with all kinds of backgrounds can contribute to the cybersecurity function within organizations.

Seminar Lab Details: 

The final meeting of the Geological Society of Minnesota for 2022-2023 is the return of the Spring Banquet at U Garden Restaurant , 2725 University Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414, (612) 378-1255, near the East Bank U of MN campus. This is the same location as the Spring Banquet held in May, 2022. The restaurant is on the north side of University Ave SE, east of 27th Ave SE.  Map There is a parking lot behind the restaurant.  

The banquet starts at 5:00 PM. No reservation or registration is needed. We recommend the buffet, which is priced at TBD + tax & tip. Hot tea and other beverages (except water) are extra. Ordering from the menu at the posted price is also an option. To make payment easy, we encourage everyone to plan to pay using cash. The restaurant does not accept checks.

You may come for just the lecture, skipping the meal if you wish; however we encourage you to enjoy the meal also, as the restaurant appreciates our business in return for hosting this event.  

During the banquet, the Video Library will be open for returns and rentals as usual.

Following the banquet, around 7 PM, will be our final lecture of 2022-2023. As with all GSM lectures, this lecture is free and open to the public.

CSE 50-Year and Golden Medallion Society Reunion

Pre-registration is required · Complimentary for members of the Class of 1973 and a guest. For those who graduated before 1973 and their guests, the cost is $30 per person.

Registration is now open for the University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering (formerly the Institute of Technology) 50-Year and Golden Medallion Society Reunion. Catch up with classmates, reconnect with faculty, and take a look ahead at new initiatives, innovative research, and the students of today as they become the leaders of tomorrow.

The Golden Medallion Society honors College of Science and Engineering alumni who have reached the 50th anniversary of their graduation. Each May, as new members are inducted into the society, existing members are invited back to join the celebration. You will receive a commemorative medallion if you are attending this event for the first time. Feel free to wear your medallion if you've previously been inducted.
