Dean appoints three new department heads

IT dean Steven L. Crouch has announced the appointment of three new department heads.

Professor Vipin Kumar will become head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering July 1. He succeeds Professor Pen-Chung Yew, who has held the post since 2000.

Professor David Lilja succeeded Professor Mos Kaveh as head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering on May 1. Kaveh, who served as department held since 1990, became college’s associate dean for research and planning in March.

On September 1, Distinguished McKnight University Professor Jeffrey Roberts will take over as head of the Department of Chemistry. He succeeds Professor Wayne Gladfelter, who has held the post since 1999.
