U women are science and technology ambassadors

Monica Anderson, Kelly Cannon, and Katie Panciera believe that they bring a fresh perspective to their chosen field, robotics.

They are three of five women among the 20 graduate students enrolled in the University's robotics program—a high percentage compared to the overall female enrollment in science and engineering schools.

The women are studying for their doctoral degrees in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering's Center for Distributed Robotics.

They also are doing something extra to help more women and minorities enter science and technology.
