Jacob Malin Wins 2025 Riedl TA Award

Department of Computer Science & Engineering graduate Jacob Malin has earned the John T. Riedl Memorial Graduate Teaching Assistant Award for 2025. This award recognizes graduate teaching assistants whose efforts have helped other students succeed in the classroom. In addition to the recognition at the CS&E Graduate Student Graduation Celebration, each recipient will receive a $2,000 prize.
Malin, who graduated with an MS in computer science in fall 2024, was selected for their dedication and service to the students in CSCI 4041: Algorithms and Data Structures. They had multiple nominations, which mentioned their exceptional teaching style, quick response time to student questions, and overall enthusiasm.

Before his untimely passing away in 2013, Professor John T. Riedl, himself a devoted, exceptional teacher, asked that funds contributed by his friends and colleagues be used to establish this memorial award.
