James Mooney wins the 2021 Riedl TA award

M.S. student James Mooney has been awarded the John T. Riedl Memorial Graduate Teaching Assistant Award for 2021. This award recognizes graduate teaching assistants whose efforts have helped other students succeed in the classroom.

He was selected for his dedication and service to the students in Intro to Parallel Computing (CSCI 5451). Multiple nominations for James were received, which all mentioned his extensive knowledge of the course topics and his availability to assist students (both during and outside of office hours).

Please join CS&E in extending our congratulations to James Mooney for his dedication in helping our student body in their academic and career pursuits.

Before his untimely passing away in 2013, Professor John T. Riedl, himself a devoted, exceptional teacher, asked that funds contributed by his friends and colleagues be used to establish this memorial award.
