Lecture Capture: Find Your Recording

This article contains information on finding your lecture capture recordings after saving the recording on a mobile kit or studio computer.

Finding Your Recording

  1. Open a web browser on your work computer. 
    1. Important: do not use the studio or kit computer.
  2. Sign in to Google Drive with your University Internet Account.
  3. Go to Shared drives in the left navigation. A list of all shared drives you have access to will appear.
  4. Double click on the relevant shared drive for lecture recordings.
    1. Mobile kit shared drives are named CSE Mobile Kit ##.
      • Where ## is the kit number you are using.
      • Example: CSE Mobile Kit 04
    2. Classrooms and studios are named with the building name or abbreviation followed by the room number and recording/studio.
      • Examples: Smith Hall 221 Studio, Akerman 101 Recordings, CivE 202 Recordings
    • Alternatively use the links to lecture capture shared drives below.
    • Relevant shared drives should already be shared with instructors that use specific lecture capture solutions. If you do not have access to a shared drive, contact CSE-IT.
  5. Find your recording file.
    1. Files are named with the date and time it was recorded.
    2. Example: CivE202_date-2020-08-12_time-12-29-51.mp4
  6. Save your recording
    • To your Google Drive
      1. Right-click on your recording.
      2. Select Make a CopyThis saves a copy of your recording to your shared drive
    • To your computer
      1. Right-click on your recording.
      2. Select DownloadThis saves a copy of your recording to your computer.
  7. Upload the recording to Google Drive, Canvas, or Kaltura to share the lecture with students.
