Resolved: Service Outage: Atlas and Apollo

Services Affected

Remote connections to the Atlas and Apollo CSE Labs servers including

  • ssh
  • sftp
  • scp

Outage Description

CSE-IT received reports of issues connecting to the atlas and apollo CSE Labs servers. These servers will be unavailable while we investigate the cause(s) of the issue. In the meantime, other CSE Labs Ubuntu machines may be used. A list of other available CSE Labs Ubuntu machines can be found at the Classroom & Labs webpage.

Outage Updates

  • 02/22/2021, 8:00 a.m. As of 8:00 a.m, Atlas and Apollo machine is both back up and running. If there is any issues please contact csehelp@umn.edu
  • 02/18/2021, 8:00 a.m. As of 8:00 a.m Atlas is still under maintenance doing memory tests. The node has large amount of ram which will take some time to go through. We will inform this update once we get Atlas fully up and running.
  • 02/15/2021, 8:00 a.m. As of 8:00 a.m, Apollo is back up and working but Atlas is still running some test. We will inform this update once we get Atlas fully up and running.
  • 02/12/2021, 2:00 p.m. Before 2:00 p.m, CSE-IT began receiving reports of issues connecting to the atlas and apollo CSE Labs servers. We are still investigating the cause(s) of this issue and we will update this notice once service is restored.
