Mathematica

Mathematica is a computational software program based on symbolic mathematics that is used in scientific, engineering, mathematical, and computing fields. 

  • Mathematica includes collections of curated data provided for use in computations.
  • It is integrated with Wolfram Alpha, an online service which provides additional data, some of which is kept updated in real time.
  • Some of the data sets include astronomical, chemical, geopolitical, language, biomedical, and weather data.

Student For installation on a student’s personal device. University-funded: No charge for CSE.
Employee For installation on an employee’s personal device. University-funded: No charge for CSE.
Employee For installation on an employee's University-owned device. University-funded: No charge for CSE.

Download Instructions

  1. Create a CSE Labs account if you do not have one.
  2. Visit the CSE Mathematica Download page.
  3. Log in with your University Internet Account, if prompted.
  4. Click E-mail me download instructions and my personal activation key.
  5. Follow instructions in the activation email.

License

  • Your student license is valid for one year, starting on the date you first install Mathematica.
  • You can renew your license as long as you are still a CSE student.

Mathematica software can only be used for conducting academic research or providing educational services. Any qualifying research must be strictly for noncommercial purposes, conducted by students and faculty, and cannot be intended primarily for the benefit of third parties.
