Peter Kang Receives Award for Porous Media Research

Prof. Peter Kang, Associate Professor & Gibson Chair of Hydrogeology
Prof. Peter Kang is a leading scientist in geosciences, specializing in coupled processes in porous media. Since earning his Ph.D. from MIT in 2014, he has established himself as a highly regarded expert in flow and reactive transport in porous and fractured systems. As a tenured Associate Professor, he leads a dynamic research group focused on reactive transport and fractured rock hydrogeology. His work integrates diverse methodologies, including microfluidics, high-performance computing, and fieldwork, to develop a mechanistic understanding of subsurface processes across multiple scales.
