ISyE Assistant Professor Shancong Mou Co-Chairs Conference Workshop

ISyE Assistant Professor Shancong Mou is co-chairing the upcoming VISION Workshop at ECCV 2024, which will be held in Milan, Italy, on September 30th, 2024.

This is the second event in the Vision-Based Industrial Inspection (VISION) workshop series. It is a collaborative effort co-organized by academic leaders from multiple institutions, including the University of Minnesota, Georgia Institute of Technology, Arizona State University, Tsinghua University (China), Middle East Technical University (Turkey), University of Waterloo (Canada), University of Cologne (Germany), and representatives from industry (Apple). Professor Mou is honored to serve as one of the co-chairs leading this initiative.

The workshop aims to foster the exchange of innovative ideas and practical challenges in vision-based industrial inspection. Through keynote talks, technical presentations, and challenge competitions, the workshop will bring together researchers from various interdisciplinary fields related to computer vision-based inspection and connect academic researchers with industry professionals to address emerging research progress and practical needs in industrial applications.

Last year, the organizing committee (including Professor Mou) organized the first event at CVPR 2023, which was highly successful. They had participants from over 18 universities and 12 companies across 9 countries, with keynote speakers and panelists who are industry and academic leaders.

Building on last year's success, the organizing committee is expecting an even larger turnout this year, having received over 40 paper submissions and more than 80 teams participated in our data challenge.
