ISyE Senior Design Project Receives Honorable Mention

ISyE Senior Design Project "Andersen Windows Shop Efficiency and Layout" has received an Honorable Mention for the 2024 MHI and CICMHE Student Design Competition.
Per the competition website, the purpose of the Material Handling Industry (MHI) and College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) competition is to "recognize outstanding material handling applications and encourage student interest in the material handling industry as a profession, recognize outstanding work, and promote collaboration between members and university students."
Students are encourage to showcase and be recognize for their work as students and industry professionals.
2024 ISyE seniors Madelyn Gibbs, Sami Kanukunta, Nicholas Reynolds, Connor Salsbury, and Jacob Voorhees worked with Andersen Windows & Doors for their Senior Design project. Andersen Windows & Doors is a private window and door manufacturer headquartered in Bayport, Minnesota.
The team of ISyE seniors worked to improve the operational efficiency of the Andersen Consolidation Center in Menomonie, WI. The team focused on improving the picking process, window assembly, and floor layout of the Consolidation Center, with the objective of reducing unnecessary waste and improving product flow within the facility. In addition, they sought to decrease processing times and improve worker productivity.
