Luke graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering focusing on the field of biomechanics and a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering specializing in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. 

As an undergraduate, Luke contributed to the development of an efficient blood plasma separation tool for the use in Point-of-Care COVID-19 diagnostics. As a part of his Master’s research, Luke contributed to the investigation of fungal dispersion patterns using under-oil microfluidics in the McClean Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Luke also spent three summers as an engineering intern for MicroOptx, a startup medical device company in the Twin Cities. 

Luke’s research interests include the combined application of biomechanics to engineer tissues and biomaterials for new cardiac medical devices. 

During his free time, Luke enjoys golfing, traveling with friends, and weightlifting.
