UMN undergraduates earn top four spots in 2024 Heuer Team Competition
MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL (12/12/2024) – Four teams of undergraduate students recently earned first, second, third, and fourth place in the 2024 Jerry Heuer Team Competition. The competition, hosted annually by the North Central Section of the Mathematics Association of America, challenges teams of undergraduate students to complete 10 problems ranging in difficulty within three hours.
The winners of the competition are:
First place: Desmos Complex Mode (score: 96.5)

This year’s competition, held on November 16th, 2024, was the 26th annual hosting of the Jerry Heuer MAA-NCS Team Competition. 66 teams from 20 schools competed, with scores ranging from 96.5 to 10. In addition to their outstanding score, the winning team was the only one to earn a 10/10 on the final problem of the test.
