Katherine Kovarik

MCFAM Assistant Professor

Dr. Katherine Kovarik teaches actuarial and financial mathematics courses for MCFAM.  Before joining MCFAM full time,  she taught Mathematics as an Adjunct Professor for the past 12 years at a variety of Universities including the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota and Pace University in New York City.  Katherine has also worked in the fields of risk management as well as a staff economist.  She was with Merrill Lynch in New York City from 1999-2003 as Vice President of Market Risk Management covering Equity Derivatives and prior to that in the Equity Derivatives Product Control area.  She worked as a Staff Economist in the Energy Group at Christensen Associates in Madison Wisconsin from 1995-1997.  She has a PhD in Mathematics Education from Columbia University (2008), a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1999) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Michigan (1995).
