ME Graduate Student Wins Grand Prize at ACS Colloids and Surface Science Symposium

Graduate student Shu Yang, advised by Professors Cari Dutcher and Satish Kumar (CEMS), was the grand prize winner for the Langmuir Graduate Student Award. The award is sponsored by the ACS journal Langmuir and the ACS Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry to recognize excellence in research, scientific communication, and oral presentation. The award was decided at the 98th ACS Colloids and Surface Science Symposium at the University of Washington, June 23-26, 2024. Shu's winning presentation was entitled "Rupture of Thin Liquid Trilayer Filmes with Soluble Surfactants: Fundamentals and Applications to Droplet Coalescence."
