William Northrop Joins the Ranks of Engineering’s Elite with SAE Fellow Induction

William Northrop, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Thomas E. Murphy Engine Laboratory at the University of Minnesota, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). This recognition celebrates his lifelong dedication to advancing automotive technology, and his impact on the education and development of the next generation of automotive engineers. Professor Northrop works on a wide variety of applications ranging from understanding and mitigating particulate emissions in engines, understanding particle formation during ammonia combustion, and optimization of vehicle routes and predicting the ranges of electric vehicles.
