Geologic Mapping Forum Online 2022-2023

GMF 2022-2023 will be held virtually. Meetings of up to 2 hours duration will be held Thursday at Noon Central on select days.

About

As you know, exciting developments in geological mapping are intensifying. Societal needs are escalating, our capabilities are improving, and even more funding is arriving. We—MGS in coordination with AASG and NCGMP—therefore are pleased to announce that Thursday, 2-hour, Noon Central, Geologic Mapping Forum Online sessions will take place in the same format as last year, on Sep 29, Oct 27, Dec 1, Jan 26, Feb 23Mar 23, and Apr 20, plus Feb 9 if needed.

The intended GMF audience is geological map authors and program managers, and the focus again will be on geology rather than funding or GIS, which are covered by other meetings.

Abstracts for the 20-minute invited talks will be requested, and discussion sessions will be added as needed. Talks will be recorded and made available unless speakers request otherwise.

Separately, regional and topical workshops will be arranged, as needed, by NCGMP.

Abstract Guidelines

Speakers are asked to submit a 1- to 2-page abstract to Harvey Thorleifson (thorleif@umn.edu). Guidelines for abstracts can be found in: GMF Abstract Guidelines (PDF).

Past GMF abstracts are available at the following: 201820192020/20212021/2022; and here is the 2018 meeting summary.

Past resources are here, and we are looking to move this to a place that all can access.
