Furmanski member of Fermilab’s most recent detector collaboration
Professor Andy Furmanski of the School of Physics and Astronomy is part of the Short-Baseline Near Detector collaboration. Scientists at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory have identified the detector’s first neutrino interactions. Furmanski and his research group, including postdoc Chris Hilgenberg and graduate student Nikki Pallat, contributed to the construction and commissioning of the detector.
"We're all really excited to be finally collecting neutrino data with this new detector,” Furmanski said, “and there's lots of exciting science to come over the next few years!"
