Who is my advisor?
Prospective students: Contact the University of Minnesota Office of Admissions if you have questions about academic requirements or the admissions process.
New students: During orientation, you will meet with College of Science and Engineering academic advisors and peer assistants. You will learn about college and University requirements and register for your first semester.
Pre-major students: During your first semester, you are assigned a College of Science and Engineering academic advisor who will stay with you through your time as an undergraduate. Your advisor works with students in your intended major and is also familiar with other programs in the college. Your advisor’s name and contact information are listed on MyU.
Students admitted to their major: After your acceptance into a major, a departmental advisor or faculty member will be your main contact for academic planning. Your College of Science and Engineering academic advisor will continue to provide information and support as needed.
University Honors students: You are assigned an honors advisor who works closely with the College of Science and Engineering advising team. Visit honors.umn.edu for your honors advisor’s office hours.
