TLI's Class of 2023 Takes a Bow

The 2023 graduates for The Technological Leadership Institute's three Master's programs gathered at the Graduate Hotel Friday afternoon for a special reception celebrating their achievement.

The students from the Management of Technology, Security Technologies and Medical Device Innovation grad programs were in attendance, along with their families. This was the first time in TLI's 36-year-history that all three programs have shared a reception. The event was held in advance of their formal graduation ceremony later that day at Huntington Bank Stadium.

It proved to be a ebullient gathering, with family members whooping and cheering as each graduate's name was read. The event began with remarks from Allison Hubel, director of TLI, who congratulated the students on their hard work and wished them the best of luck in their careers, noting that many of those enrolled in TLI's graduate programs are mid-career professionals. She noted that as the nature of the workplace changes, programs that enhance and expand professional credentials throughout a person's career will become more common.

Faculty member Randy Ross recognized each graduate with a certificate of completion in the TLI program. Each of the students were to receive their official M.S. diploma at the Huntington Bank graduation event a few hours later.

Faculty member and capstone chair Chip Laingen presented the awards for the best capstone projects. Julia Whelan was the winner in the MOT class, and Eric Guggisberg and Ambreen Athar were the runners-up. For the MDI cohort, Harsh Yedady won for best capstone, while Yu-Chi (Jamie) Liao took the runner-up prize.

Finally, TLI's Director of Graduate Studies Tariq Samad delivered the closing remarks, congratulating the graduates on the abilities they had shown during their 22-month program and encouraging the graduates to avail themselves of TLI's formidable professional network in the future.

The event ended with an opportunity for pictures with the new graduates and -- no surprise for a TLI event -- time for professional networking.
