U of M Technological Leadership Institute Presents: Cyber Security Summit 2019

Ninth annual three-day conference draws nationally-renowned experts to improve the state of cyber security

As a founding partner, the University of Minnesota’s Technological Leadership Institute (TLI) is proud to be a presenting sponsor of the ninth annual Cyber Security Summit, “Pushing the Cyber Security Envelope.” On October 28-30 in downtown Minneapolis, the Summit will gather industry, government and academic leaders from across all 16 critical infrastructure sectors to discuss foreign and domestic cybersecurity problems and best practices.

The three-day event will feature designated tracks for women in cyber security, healthcare and medical devices, small businesses, and DevSecOps and technical. Topics on the agenda include blockchain and enterprise security, Zero Trust, automation and digital transformation, and government action. The Summit will feature several nationally-renowned cybersecurity experts, including:

  • William R. Evanina, Director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center
  • Christopher Krebs, Director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)
  • Tim Crothers, VP of Security Solutions at Target Corp.
  • Catharine Trebnick, VP and Senior Research Analyst for Data and Communications Infrastructure for Dougherty & Company, LLC.

In addition to the signature speakers, TLI’s Director of Graduate Studies for the M.S. in Security Technologies Mike Johnson will give the welcome and opening remarks with Eileen Manning and Tim Crothers. Several TLI alumni will also be speaking and presenting, including Judy Hatchett and Sahar Ismail (Women in Cyber Security Panel), and Steen Fjalstad (Government Taking Action to Secure the Cyber Domain; Roundtable Discussion & EXPO).
