Hubert Lim named director of Bakken Medical Devices Center
February 23, 2024 — University of Minnesota Twin Cities Biomedical Engineering Professor Hubert Lim has been selected as the next director of the University's Earl E. Bakken Medical Device Center (Bakken MDC).
In this role, Prof. Lim will oversee a wide range of responsibilities and commitments within Bakken MDC and the Institute for Engineering in Medicine (IEM)’s Innovation Pillar.
His role will continue Bakken MDC and the IEM Innovation Pillar’s mission to facilitate translational engineering research and promote the commercialization of medical technologies generated by clinicians and engineers at the University of Minnesota and M Health Fairview.
Additionally, Prof. Lim’s work will continue to build collaborations with local, national, and global medical technology industries to advance translational research and improve clinical care, as well as facilitate training for the next generation of medical technology innovators.
