Tips for successfully getting through finals
The CSE advising team has a few tips to help you stay on top of your game during finals.
Be well
Pace yourself and keep those stress levels in check with exercise, good diet, healthy sleep habits, and break times between studying. The University of Minnesota has many wellness resources you can use including:
- CSEWell: Personalized wellness assessments, short term assistance, referrals to resources, and action plan development for CSE students
- Single Session Conversations and Let's Talk Consultations: Free, informal conversations with a counselor, to help students navigate stressors and explore next steps to accessing care.
- Boynton Health Services: Comprehensive health care services, counseling, and education for the University community
- Boynton Mental Health & Counseling: Psychiatry services, group therapy, individual therapy, and counseling services.
- Effective U: Online tutorials for personal and academic well-being including managing stress
- Paws (Pet Away Worry and Stress): Destress by interacting with animals on campus
- Mindful Mondays: Free drop-in mindfulness sessions held on Zoom.
Be prepared
Make sure you have the location details and times of your exams correct. This is where planners and calendars come in handy! Be sure you have all supplies you might need (pencils, calculators, additional paper, study sheets, etc.) in order. The schedule for common finals can be found on One Stop's Final Exam Times page.
Be strategic
