Communications and Marketing Office
The College of Science and Engineering Office of Communications and Marketing provides a broad range of college-wide communications, publications, media relations, public relations, and marketing support.
Collegewide support
Our office supports the CSE administrative offices, including External Relations, Collegiate Life, Academic Advising, CSE Career Center and other offices. Our responsibilities include:
- manage the college website
- produce Inventing Tomorrow, a bi-annual magazine for alumni and friends
- edit and distribute mass emails regarding various events and information to alumni, faculty/staff, or students
- produce quarterly CSE Alumni Enewsletter for alumni and friends
- write, edit, and distribute weekly email announcements to undergraduate students
- collaborate with departments and centers on promotion and recognition events
- promote the college at major events, including the Minnesota State Fair
- produce multimedia materials for student recruitment
- produce communications distributed to current students
- produce communications distributed to alumni, donors, and corporate sponsors
- manage the college's social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google+, LinkedIn, and Flickr)
Department and center support
Our team serves as a primary communications and marketing resource for the college's 12 departments and nearly 20 research centers with the following activities:
- provide media relations services
- edit and distribute mass email messages and enewsletters to alumni, corporate partners, and friends of the college
- consult on marketing plans, and major communications and website projects
- ensure compliance with University brand policy
- conduct training on specific topics to improve communications
- facilitate monthly meetings of communicators to share college-wide information and best practices
University liaison
The CSE Office of Communications and Marketing serves as the primary liaison between University Relations and the college with the following activities:
- serves as a primary media contact for the News Service
- contributes ideas and content for the University's Driven to Discover campaign
- distributes communications about legislative activities
- ensures compliance with University brand policy
- collaborates on University-wide events
