Semester Start

Understanding your teaching and research needs

If you haven’t already, let us know what you need for this semester. Class-specific needs may include:

  • Virtual machines (VMs), including those with custom configurations for your course material (Note that on-demand VMs will be deleted as soon as the semester ends. Storing important data on temporary VMs is not recommended.)
  • Software installations on lab machines
  • Upgrades to software installations
  • Configuration changes
  • Hybrid teaching technology needed such as document cameras, Meeting Owls, CSE-IT mobile kits, etc.
  • Canvas questions or help designing your course
  • Academic Technology and questions about teaching with tools.
  • Questions about Accessibility or your UDOIT report.
  • Poster printing.  All poster printing requests must be submitted at least two business days prior to scheduled pickup.

If you have used the labs in the past, please test your software ahead of the start of the semester to make sure things still work as you expect. Doing this ahead of time will help ensure your courses are successful.

While we will continue to seek your input prior to the start of each semester, do let us know if you have a recurring need so we can add it to our standard semester start-up process.

If you'd like to schedule time with our team to discuss how CSE-IT can support your instruction and research needs, email [email protected].
