MnDRIVE Environment Fall Meet-And-Greet

Join members of the MnDRIVE Environment Community for a Meet-And-Greet at the Fulton Brewery Taproom as we celebrate the opening of Byproduct, a new site-specific art installation by artist Aaron Dysart. Byproduct will carbonate the façade of the taproom with shifting colors generated from an enormous mirror ball. The colors show the results of a sustainable wastewater research project conducted by Paige Novak and her team at the University of Minnesota.

Virtual Star Party - Exploring the Geminids, Meteors, and Meteorites

Every December the Geminid meteor shower can be seen. It’s one of the northern hemisphere’s best meteor showers. But what are these “shooting stars” that streak across the sky? When should we look for them, and how do I know if I found a rock from space? The Bell Museum planetarium team will guide you on meteorites and meteor-wrongs, as we view the night sky through our telescopes from the Bell’s observation deck.

Virtual Star Party - Artemis I, Returning to the Moon

It’s been 49 years since the last manned mission to the Moon. Now, NASA is preparing to launch the first woman and the first person of color to the Moon later this decade. Before humans take their next steps on the lunar surface, the uncrewed Artemis I mission, using the Space Launch System rocket and the Orion spacecraft, will launch this winter. The mission: to enter lunar orbit and return safely to Earth.

Virtual Star Party: Countdown to Launch, James Webb Space Telescope

5-4-3-2-1 Blast Off! The highly anticipated launch of the James Webb Space Telescope is almost here. To gear up and get ready for the launch, our planetarium team will dig into the science and engineering of the Webb while we enjoy views of the sky through our own, ground-based, telescopes. Webb is scheduled to launch no earlier than Oct 31, 2021.

Register for the event!
