Decreasing DFW Rates and Increasing Persistence

Please join the the CSE Diversity and Incluvsivity (D&I) Alliance for the next Cool Ideas event this Thursday, April 18, to hear how the Department of Computer Science and Engineering reduced drop, fail, and withdraw (DFW) rates in it's introductory classes from upward of 40 percent to approximately 10 percent over the past few years. The department has effectively retained these students in subsequent years.

ISyE Network Science and Economics Conference

The ninth annual Network Science and Economics conference will take place from April 19-21, 2024 at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. The conference is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, with additional support from the  Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Data Science Initiative, and College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota.

CSE Day of Service at the Bakken Museum

CSE is hosting a day of service for our alumni and friends at the Bakken Museum. The Bakken inspires a passion for innovation by exploring the potential for science, technology, and the humanities to make the world a better place. Our volunteers will assist with a variety of projects inside and outside of the museum. Volunteers will be assigned an activity upon arrival.

Lorenz G. Straub Award and InterPore’s Kimberly-Clark Distinguished Lecture

Every other week, the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory (SAFL) hosts prominent figures in environmental science and fluid mechanics. They come from all over the US and the world to share their insight and inspire us to tackle important questions in the field.

This is a hybrid event. It will be held in-person in the SAFL Auditorium and via zoom.
