D&I Alliance: Communications Action Team
The communications action team supports the communications needs of all the CSE Diversity and Inclusivity Alliance action teams while working to highlight and lift the voices of our diverse community.
Recent accomplishments include:
- Refreshed the Diversity and Inclusivity Alliance website with new content based on web comparative analysis
- Held trainings for CSE communicators on digital accessibility and ethical storytelling
- Promoted and added to the slide bank of D&I Moments for use throughout the college
- Formalized a process for gathering content and sending bi-weekly Alliance Updates
- Highlighted the voices of BIPOC students through various stories/videos on the CSE website and social media
- Supported the work of other Alliance work groups, including playing a key role in the communications and planning of the 2022 CSE DEI Leadership Showcase Awards
Goals for 2022-23:
- Provide communications strategies and tactics to help increase the number of Alliance Champions
- Continue to build upon the Alliance website content
- Use communications to help bridge DEI efforts between the Alliance and the Dean's initiatives
