Cool Ideas:
"Decreasing DFW Rates and Increasing Persistence"

The Department of Computer Science has achieved a remarkable feat in reducing drop, fail, and withdraw (DFW) rates in it's introductory classes from upwards of 40 percent to approximately 10 percent over the past fews years. Moreover, the department has effectively retained these students in subsequent years.

Please join the D&I Alliance for our next engaging Cool Ideas event, "Decreasing DFW Rates and Increasing Persistence," and hear from one of the professors who led this effort. Maria Gini, professor in computer science and engeering, will share valuable strategies on how they accomplished this and offer insights on how you can adapt these methods for your department.
