Meet alumna Michele Brekke, retired NASA scientist and this year's Homecoming Grand Marshal!

Join Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics (AEM) department alumni, students, faculty, and friends for a complimentary meet and greet with Michele Brekke (B.S. '75, M.S. '77). Brekke worked in a number of positions at NASA, and is now a flight manager for the Boeing CST-100 Starliner commercial spacecraft. She will be sharing her journey through her career and taking questions.

About Michele Brekke

Michele A. Brekke is an AEM alumna (B.S. '75, M.S. 77) and now a flight manager for the Boeing CST-100 Starliner operational missions. Beginning in 1977, she worked for NASA's Mission Control Center. Some of the positions she held include flight director in the Mission Operations Directorate, assistant mission manager and flight manager in the Space Shuttle Program Office, and associate chief of the Space Medicine and Health Care Systems Office. She retired after 37 years at NASA and is now working for Boeing, helping to develop a commercial spacecraft to carry astronauts to the International Space Station.  Read more about Michele Brekke.

Brekke will serve as Grand Marshal for the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus 2019 Homecoming parade on Oct. 4. Each year, the University of Minnesota Alumni Association selects as Grand Marshal a graduate who has demonstrated exceptional passion for the University and dedication to its mission. These talented alumni serve as role models for future and current students.
