Saturday with a Scientist: Data Visualization

Saturday with a Scientist is a regular program that connects you to University of Minnesota scientists along with special hands-on interactive experiences. Meet UMN undergraduate and graduate students from Computer Science & Engineering who are learning to make data come alive with interactive and multi-sensory data visualizations. Go beyond the bar chart and check out semester-long projects from students in Dan Keefe’s course, as they visualize data from the Bell’s collection to provide deeper takes on popular Bell exhibits. Explore additional visualizations created using data from the City of St. Paul’s Open Data portal and gain a better understanding of our city. Discuss the work with students and try out interactive 2D and 3D computer graphics visualizations located throughout the museum.

All activities are free with gallery admission.

Tickets are available on site or online.
