September Star Party: Gas Giants
Welcome back to campus, U of M students!
Planetarium
Shows start at 8:30 & 9
Start the night inside the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium for a brief presentation of Fall Sky Tonight.
Activity
Learn more about the outer planets whose orbit lies outside the asteroid belt (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune).
Also, enjoy hands-on activities with members of the Minnesota Astronomical Society.
Telescopes
The evening continues outside with telescopes on the Ruth & John Huss Observation Deck. Our astronomy team will guide you through observations of the same celestial objects that have inspired sky-gazers throughout history!
Remember to dress for the weather! The event takes place rain or shine. In the case of extreme or poor weather, indoor activities will be planned in place of telescope observing.
