The University of Minnesota’s seventh annual Design of Medical Devices (DMD) Conference, will be held April 14-16 at the Radisson University Hotel, 615 Washington Ave. S.E., Minneapolis. The conference includes two days of technical/clinical sessions and the one-day Annual President’s 21st Century Interdisciplinary Conference entitled Translational Research: From Prototype to Product."

A University of Minnesota research team, led by electrical and computer engineering professor Jian-Ping Wang and medicinal chemistry associate professor Chengguo Xing, has demonstrated a magnetic nanotechnology-based diagnostic technique that can accurately identify disease biomarkers and detect diseases in their early stages in unprocessed human blood, saliva or urine.
