CSE: Global Engineering Education Exchange

The Global Engineering Education Exchange (Global Eᵌ) is truly a global organization. Member universities reside in countries including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, China, Colombia, Egypt, Denmark, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.

Global Eᵌ is a multinational consortium of more 70 schools of engineering in the United States and internationally. The consortium provides a vehicle for engineering student exchange in more than 20 countries. The organization is managed globally by the Institute of International Education and the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

Courses taught in English are available at many, but not all, host institutions. The available fields of study will vary by campus within the consortium. Some schools require that visiting students be in an engineering field. Review schools with the CSE International Programs Office.

To search for programs, go to the Global Eᵌ website. You can search by country under "Participating Universities - List" or do an advanced search by discipline (major) under "Participating Universities - Search."

• MATH 2263 Multivariable Calculus (MATH 201 from the University of Canterbury)

Courses with passing final grades from CSE exchange partners transfer back to UMN as transfer credit (T). Transfer credit does not affect overall GPA.

Each participating university will have its own housing options available. Accepted exchange students will be notified of their options and the current pricing.

Fall / Spring Semester: $9,150 + $12,100 in estimated additional expenses (Fall 2021/Spring 2022)

Academic Year: $16,800 + $24,550 in estimated additional expenses (Academic Year 2021-2022)

CSE students in good academic standing, sophomores and above.

Academic calendars vary by country and host institution. Please review the program dates carefully as they are subject to change. Contact our office or refer to acceptance materials for arrival information before arranging any flights.

*Note that exchange students may be required to arrive earlier for orientation.

Students should complete the general Global Eᵌ application with two to three Global Eᵌ institutions in mind. Once the Global Eᵌ application is completed, notify the CSE International Programs team by emailing cseabroad@umn.edu. CSE International Programs staff will review your application and then move your status to "Under IIE Review." The application will then be moved on to your first choice institution, and they will decide to accept your nomination or not. If not, your application will go to your second choice, and so on. If your nomination is accepted, you will need to complete the host institution's additional application and apply directly to the institution.

Students accepted by the host institution will be prompted to complete the University of Minnesota application and confirmation procedure.

Application deadlines: March 1 (fall & academic year); Sept. 15 (spring)

No late applications are accepted by Global Eᵌ.
