This award recognizes students who have exceptional academic achievement, personal character, and outstanding leadership and service to the University of Minnesota.
Bunday is an undergraduate student with a double major—one in the College of Science and Engineering’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering and one in the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resource Sciences’ Department of Food Science and Nutrition.
Bunday is a leader with Engineers Without Borders, designing projects, coordinating volunteers, and collaborating with professionals to provide clean water access to a community of 3,500 people in Comalapa, Guatemala. She is also the co-president of the Food Recovery Network, leading efforts to combat food insecurity in the Twin Cities.
Bunday also has contributed to the world of research, where she is advancing knowledge on sustainable food systems with the Institute on the Environment. Her efforts to enhance tools for analyzing food supply chains and reducing greenhouse gas emissions exemplify a commitment to sustainability.
Bunday served as an information technology intern at Land O’Lakes, Inc. in the summer of 2023, where she worked to configure and transition management systems as part of a holistic Product Lifecycle Management system.
