Scholarships are awarded to students based on academic achievement, financial need, special talents, interests, and qualities, or other criteria defined by the scholarship donor.
How to apply
Future freshmen or transfer students:
To be considered for College of Science and Engineering scholarships, simply submit the application for admission. There is no separate scholarship application.
Admitted students are considered for these scholarships based on an overall assessment of their admission application. Therefore, it is important that you:
- list ALL extracurricular activities, leadership experience, volunteer work, etc.
- be as complete as possible.
Many students at the U of M receive financial aid, including academic scholarships, grants, student employment, and loans. Additional information is available on the U of M admissions and aid webpage to help you with financial aid options.
Students must have completed at least three semesters of full-time enrollment in the College of Science and Engineering to be eligible for a continuing student scholarship.
Typical scholarship recipients have a GPA of at least 3.6 in addition to extensive leadership and extracurricular involvement. There are many opportunities for scholarships in each of the CSE departments. Eligible students will receive an invitation to apply.
