CSE Wellness Appointments
CSE students can schedule one-hour appointments with a Wellness Support Coordinator on the CSEWell team to receive personalized guidance, connect with campus resources, and discover strategies for success both inside and outside the classroom.

As a first-generation college graduate, Marnie understands the complexities of adjusting to higher education and uses a strengths-based, solution-focused approach in her work. She is committed to connecting students with resources, building pathways for success, and empowering them to thrive personally, academically, and professionally. Outside of work, Marnie enjoys traveling, cooking new recipes, and spending time with her husband and children.
Taryn Trovillion

Wellness Support CoordinatorEducation: Bachelor’s degree in communication, media studies and public relations and advertising; master’s in social work, concentration in clinical mental health (expected May 2027)
Taryn Trovillion is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota pursuing a Master of Social Work with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health. Before returning to school, she spent seven years in HR data analysis, honing her skills in communication, problem-solving, and working with diverse global stakeholders. Taryn’s passion for supporting others led her to volunteer as a youth mentor in Chicago and as a Sexual Assault Advocate in Minnesota, providing crisis support to survivors of sexual violence. Drawing from her own experiences managing anxiety, depression, and ADHD as an undergraduate, she is deeply committed to empowering individuals and fostering healing through compassionate, strengths-based approaches.
As a returning adult student, Taryn understands the challenges of balancing academics, personal wellness, and juggling multiple responsibilities. She is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive space for students navigating college life. Outside of her studies and practicum, Taryn enjoys cooking, exploring the Twin Cities with her husband, and spending time with their two cats, Ginger and Minnow.
Services provided by the CSEWell team
- Personalized wellness assessments: Meet with a wellness support coordinator to discuss any challenges you’re facing — whether it’s stress, anxiety, or the general ups and downs of life. Together, we’ll identify the best solutions to help you thrive.
- Short-term assistance: Receive brief, targeted support for non-acute mental health concerns, basic needs, or personal challenges. We’re here to help you manage these issues before they become larger obstacles.
- Referrals to resources: Unsure where to turn? We’ll connect you with the appropriate campus or community resources, whether it’s mental health services, financial aid, or other support systems. Think of us as your bridge to the help you need.
- Action plan development: We’ll work with you to create and implement a personalized action plan that addresses your specific needs, ensuring you have the support and follow-up necessary for success.
Services not provided by the CSEWell team
- Long-term counseling: Our focus is on short-term support and connecting you with resources for ongoing care if needed.
- Academic advising or career counseling: We’re here to support your well-being, but for academic planning and career counseling, you’ll want to speak with your academic advisor or a career counselor.
- Medical diagnoses or treatment: While we can guide you to the right resources, we do not diagnose or treat medical conditions.
- Replacement for professional mental health services: If you’re dealing with more serious or ongoing mental health issues, we will help you find the appropriate professional support, whether that is on or off campus.
Please note:
- Non-acute mental health concerns include, but are not limited to, mild anxiety, stress, and short-term emotional challenges that do not require emergency intervention or intensive psychological treatment.
- Basic needs insecurity refers to difficulties related to accessing essential resources such as food, housing, transportation, technology, and financial stability.
