The Actuarial program is good at teaching students how to dig deeper to understand the theoretical math behind the formulas we use. This provided me with strong analytical skills that has helped me be successful in my job on the asset liability management team at Allianz Investment Management (AIM).  My advice to current students: Network like crazy. This, as well as internships, are the only ways you are going to have any idea what jobs are like in a certain team
