After graduation, I’m joining Allstate as a Property & Casualty Actuarial Analyst. This professional opportunity is a continuation of an internship experience I completed during my undergraduate studies! My new role will involve pricing analyses, loss provision models, and actuarial documentation. My Mathematics major with specialization in Actuarial Science prepared me for this position in more ways than one, helping me build a strong foundation to have success on my P and FM Exams and supporting me with opportunities to apply my classroom knowledge to real-world problems through partnerships with Aon, Deloitte, and Arch Insurance.
Beyond the classroom, serving as Secretary of the 2025–26 UMN Actuary Club Board was a highlight of my time as a student. I learned directly from industry professionals while helping underclassmen find their footing on the actuarial path. I also enjoyed keeping active by bouldering in the RecWell basement and running along the riverbank to St. Paul, and took advantage of being in the Twin Cities by hopping on the Metro to catch Vikings and Timberwolves games downtown!
To any student looking to follow a similar career path, my biggest piece of advice is to get involved with clubs early and take advantage of what they offer. Mock interviews, exam reimbursements, and LinkedIn workshops will all help in landing your first position.
