WHAT WE OFFER
The Minnovation Center is the hub of innovation and entrepreneurship at the College of Science & Engineering (CSE). The innovation ecosystem at CSE supports students, faculty, and startups at all stages of the innovation journey through academic and experiential programs, mentoring, makerspaces, and community connections.

Whether you're interested in MOT minors, workshops led by industry experts, or other exciting learning experiences, our "Learn" program is designed to empower you on your educational journey.
MAKE
A dynamic hub of creativity and innovation designed to inspire and empower makers of all backgrounds, our "Make" program offers access to a wide range of resources and opportunities including makerspaces, Makeathon events, MVO Challenges, etc.
LAUNCH
With programs like the BASE Accelerator, we will serve as your launchpad for innovation and business growth. We will provide the guidance, resources, and mentorship you need to propel your venture.
BUILD
Our "Build" program is designed to help you construct that foundation with precision and expertise. With programs like Circuity and ScaleUp MN, we provide businesses with the essential tools and resources to thrive and grow.

The center is a collaboration between the College of Science and Engineering, the Technological Leadership Institute, Anderson Labs, and MIN-Corps. These are the important stakeholders responsible for supporting the development and commercialization of technology and innovation at UMN.

TECHNOLOGICAL LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (TLI)
The Technological Leadership Institute (TLI) is an interdisciplinary center at the University of Minnesota established in 1987 by an endowment from the Honeywell Foundation. The Institute is part of the College of Science and Engineering, which is ranked among the top engineering and science schools in the country. Learn more

ANDERSON LABS
There are three innovation labs under the Anderson Student Innovation Labs umbrella, each providing different resources from 3D printers and laser cutters to welding facilities and waterjet cutters. MIN-CORPS
MIN-Corps is the University of Minnesota hub for technology innovation, entrepreneurship and commercialization. We provide education and coaching programs that help STEM students, postdocs and faculty develop the skills required to translate innovations into products and services with real-world impact. CAMPUS PARTNERS
The center is part of a hub-and-spoke model that coordinates with innovation and entrepreneurship organizations across campus. The Minnovation Team works closely with these organizations to provide a comprehensive set of resources and opportunities to innovators and entrepreneurs across the UMN system.
The Toaster Innovation Hub
Free to use for all UMN students, the Toaster offers reservable spaces for group meetings, workshops, and events; a maker space with hands-on equipment and supplies; and access to all things UMN innovation and entrepreneurship.
The College of Design Fabrication Shops
An open lab where students enrolled in a College of Design course have access to equipment and support to work on assigned projects. Our spaces include a woodshop, metal shop, digital fabrication tools, and a materials store.
Bakken-Med Device
Under the Bakken MDC umbrella, MedWorx™ supports researchers, clinicians and engineers in their efforts to resolve clinical needs within the specialty areas of 3D Printing & Scanning, Engineering/CAD, Segmentation, and AR/VR Virtualization.
Technology Commercialization
University of Minnesota Technology Commercialization facilitates the transfer of University technology and ideas to licensee companies--both established and startup--for the development of new products and services that benefit the public good, foster economic growth, and generate revenue to support the University's mission.
MN Cup
A community-led, public-private partnership supporting Minnesota’s entrepreneurs. We host an annual competition that reaches emerging entrepreneurs from across the state and connects them with education, mentorship, and support to launch and accelerate the development of their new ventures.
