Undergraduate Scholars Program
The AI-LEAF Institute is transforming the science of artificial intelligence (AI) and applying it to agriculture and forestry. Our team is developing innovative AI-enhanced datasets, models, algorithms, and decision-support tools to assist farmers, foresters, policymakers, and market actors in making effective and science-driven economic and environmental decisions. The AI-LEAF Undergraduate Scholars Program is a 1-year educational program (Fall 2026-Spring 2027), that will serve as an introduction to foundational topics in Climate-Smart Agriculture/Forestry and Artificial Intelligence. Through weekly educational zoom sessions, a cohort of 40 students - from the University of Minnesota, Cornell University, Purdue University, Colorado State University, Delaware State University, and North Carolina State University - will explore and survey topics from our four curriculum pillars.

Program Expectations
- Attend and participate in weekly webinars (Fridays from 1:00-3:00 pm CST)
- Collaborate with peers on projects and develop educational materials
- Present your research and education projects during the AI-LEAF Annual Meeting
